Welcome, a little history on who we are...
Exit 17 scooter club is a 'traditional' English club with members situated all over the West of the Country, principally based in the Chippenham, Bath, Frome and Radstock areas.
Whilst most of the club ride traditional Lambretta and Vespa geared scooters, we welcome all scooter riders and even have a few monstrosities tucked away in our sheds & garages ourselves!
The club name comes from Exit 17 of the M4 motorway (which links Bristol & South Wales to London & the east).
The club was originally formed in 1981, wholly within the Chippenham & Corsham/Calne areas as a Mod Scooter club (although to be fair, we were almost all Mods in those days!), it had folded by 1983 and members went on to join (amongst others) Rack'n'Ruin, Rockin' Roosters, Pure Gold, Wiltshire Alliance and many other clubs fondly forgotten due to old age.
In 2000 Stuart Everett and Neil Wicks decided that it was time an informal club was made and Exit 17 became its name again.
The club is now thriving and, although there is more organisation due to the growing number of members, it is still run on a flexible and informal basis. The membership includes many regular rally going scooterists, but also many people who are only able to attend a few events each year due to various other commitments.
Club meetings are regularly held in the excellent Lambrettas Bar in Bath. We also organise regular rideouts during the summer months as well as club bops and other events.
